Tips for Warehouse Maintenance in Autumn

Tips for Warehouse Maintenance in Autumn

Whether you love it or hate it, the Autumn season is nearly here. The change in season is a great opportunity for businesses to revisit the condition of their buildings before the colder weather starts to set in.

Although you should already have some form of maintenance schedule in place – it never hurts to be reminded of some of the tasks that you may have forgotten about!

Check Your Business Grounds

Many business owners will spend so long looking at the interior of their businesses that they often forget about checking the rest of the land that is attached to their business.

Although you may not automatically think about checking the ground or flooring of the area surrounding your business, they will need maintaining too, for both safety and functional reasons. Cracked flooring poses a trip hazard, which can cause severe injuries in a warehouse setting.

It’s important to check for any maintenance issues before the colder, wetter weather sets in so that they can be tackled and fixed before it becomes difficult to do.

Check Your Air Conditioning Unit

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been relying on your industrial air conditioning system for its cooling properties over the summer or not – your system should be scheduled for maintenance regularly.

It’s also important to remember that air conditioning doesn’t just cool a space, it can help warm it too, making it even more important to get the unit working to maximum efficiency before the cold weather kicks in and the warming properties will be required more often!

Check the Building for Issues

If you’re looking to use your air conditioning for heating purposes over the cooler period but haven’t really felt the benefit of the cooling properties that it has over the summer, it may be beneficial to look at the building itself.

Areas of required maintenance such as broken windows or holes in walls can severely reduce the efficiency of your air conditioning system, so keep an eye out for structural repairs which may allow warm air to escape and cool air to enter – you’ll need your air conditioning to be working at full capacity to keep you warm during Autumn!

There are plenty of other tasks you should be working on before the weather turns colder and wetter, but should you need any maintenance performing on your industrial air conditioning unit, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us here at Heritage Heating and Cooling – our engineers will be happy to help you in any way that they can.
